Growing up, I got made fun of a lot. So I was never one to make fun of others
much. But one day at my workplace, I man was hired to work with my crew on our
shift. My co-workers started making fun of him behind his back and I felt bad
for him. But somehow I got caught up in the moment and began making fun of him
when he wasn’t around as well. But then I started to feel guilty and shameful
about it. What made it worse was that, at the time, I really wanted to be an
inspiration to others and be a person that others could look up to. And I knew
that those current actions did not show me as a leader, but a follower. I knew I
had to repent. So I prayed to God and apologized for what I had done. I also
asked God to help me be an inspiration to others. I felt much better after the
prayer.
The very next day, I went to work and saw something that blew my mind. The
man that had been made fun of had cut his hair into a mohawk just like mine. And
all day at work, he would follow me around and talk to me and ask questions. I
saw that he really liked me and looked up to me. I realized that I was an
inspiration to him. I felt honored and believed that God had definitely
responded to both of my prayers.
